Legislation change, what does this mean for Home Owners?

All houses leased or sold will need to comply with the new standards from 1 January 2022.
Property sellers must continue to lodge a Form 24 with the Queensland Land Registry Office stating the requirements of the smoke alarm legislation have been met.
All owner-occupied private dwellings will need to comply with the new standards by 1 January 2027.
From 1 January 2017, all houses being built or significantly renovated will need to comply with the new Smoke Alarm legislation upon completion.

SATS and Harcourts Kingsberry have put together the best value option to ensure that they we can quickly, easily, and economically assess and upgrade the Smoke Alarms (if required) in your property to ensure that they comply with new legislation and that the transfer of property ownership can take place.

*Estimated Cost is subject to change IF additional alarm installations are required to comply with QLD legislation. SATS will charge $100 inc. GST per additional alarm. Alarms used will be either Photo-electric 240v** or 3v Li 10-year lithium-ion smoke alarms depending on the individual circumstance. If the property is already compliant with current QLD legislation, a $149 inc. GST service fee will be charged.

Please note – We will contact you onsite to process payment for alarms. Installation will not proceed until payment is made. If a return visit is necessary, an additional re-attendance fee of $99 inc. GST will be charged.
